I had the pleasure of talking with Brenda Koester, Assistant Director of the Family Resiliency Center (FRC) at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. We discussed the research FRC is conducting around the benefits of family mealtimes.
The Family Resiliency Program was established in 2000 in partnership with The Pampered Chef, Ltd. Doris Kelley Christopher is the founder and chairman of The Pampered Chef and a 1967 Illinois graduate. The center has this goal: “Being advocates for the family, working to foster resiliency in today’s families, and in finding solutions to family problems.”
The FRC is a transdisciplinary research and policy center and a leader in translating research into practical information for policymakers, providers, and families. The center is housed in Doris Kelley Christopher Hall on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
