FMLA

About This Webinar:

When you or a loved one experiences a serious health condition that requires you to take time off from work you may be eligible for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Whether you are unable to work because of your own serious health condition, or because you need to care for your parent, spouse, or child with a series health condition, FMLA provides unpaid, job-protected leave. Leave may be taken all at once, or may be taken intermittently as the medical condition requires. This training provides an overview of how FMLA may benefit caregivers and identify leave provisions for military families.

Learning objectives:

  • Introduce the benefits and protections of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Identify non-military FMLA Leave Provisions
  • Review Military Family Leave Provisions for Qualifying Exigency and Military Caregiver Leave

Presenter

Olivia Jones is a Senior Analyst for the Division of Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Office of Policy, in the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division’s National Office in Washington, D.C. Ms. Jones began her career with the Department over 25 years ago working as a Wage Hour Investigator. She has been a part of the Division’s National Office in Washington, D.C. for the past 8 years.

She interacts with the public concerning the practical application of these laws, regulations and with Wage and Hour Division field staff on the enforcement of its provisions.

  1. I have RSVP, but I am a health care worker on the front line. I will be at work. Is there anyway the webinar can be recorded and provided to me? Additionally, will I be able to show proof that I was able to receive and took part in the information for school?

    1. Clanzerria –

Thank you for all that you do, especially during this COVID-19 outbreak. The webinar will be recorded and posted on this page after the event. You will also still have an opportunity to receive CE credit and/or a certificate of completion once you view the recording and complete the survey (link will be provided after ‘live’ webinar on this page as well). Stay safe and please let us know if you have additional questions.

      Kindest regards,
