About This Webinar:

Are your patients/clients still asking about ketogenic diets? Learn how you can address questions from your clients and provide the most updated science-based information on the efficacy of ketogenic diets.

Objectives:

  • Review and describe biochemical reactions and regulatory mechanisms of ketone body synthesis and utilization
  • Discuss emerging evidence for the use of ketogenic diets in the treatment of chronic disease including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cancer
  • Identify potential mechanisms of action for the therapeutic effect of ketogenic diets on chronic disease

For the past 8 years, Jessica has been the Ketogenic Dietitian at the Department of Neurology of Keck School of Medicine of USC and Division of Child Neurology at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. Her current research projects include the use of nutrition supplements to improve adherence to the ketogenic diet for seizure control, research participation amongst ketogenic dietitians, and outcomes of severe traumatic brain injuries and nutrition support.
